Alain Guilmot

Alain Guilmot has a long-standing dedication to Company Law, M&A and Life Sciences professionals. He assisted investors in numerous projects relating to new and bio-tech and/or niche-markets plus all associated matters.

Alain also was required to provide his assistance in the frame of the listing of Belgian and International companies on the Brussels, Paris, London and Frankfurt Stock Exchanges.

He frequently advises partners willing to joint venture or to merge. He makes a point of advising his clients across the spectrum of legal issues and he is recognized for helping deciders to make the right decision as he knows how effectively assisting requires a set of legal skills that encompass the relevant provisions of a wide range of commercial law subjects including company, contracts, IP, competition, insolvency, financial and tax law and the practice of the relevant industry sector.

Alain has a well-established practice of dealing with cooperative projects of all sizes and shapes, notably in the research partnerships of emerging growth companies. He is used to address complex scientific issues with the clients to make sure that they delineate what exactly they need to protect in the deals they contemplate.

Although his approach is dedicated to head-off any threats of disputes, he is well versed in the arbitration rules and practice of various arbitral institutions and was (successfully) involved in diverse complex high-stakes litigation.

Alain is a member of the Belgian Center for Arbitration and Mediation. He speaks English, French and Dutch. He recently started learning Arabic to discover new ideas and cultures in the world.
